Great Pack Prospect
#1
Ivy kidded today with an 13 pound buckling. He has the longest legs I have ever seen on a Ober kid! His mom is a large doe, being 150 pounds. Both his mom and dad have good solid feet (mom also has very slow growing hooves). Both of his half brothers from last year went to be packers as well. He is horned* and currently being dam raised (she raises BIG kids). Can work on imprinting with deposit. Herd is CAE/CL neg. per 2013 testing.

*We don't dis-bud, but if you want to dis-bud and bottle raise him yourself, he is available in 72 hours.

I can't resize my pictures right now, but here is link to our Facebook page where I have pictures :https://www.facebook.com/pages/Onion-Creek-Oberhaslis/1499682266919345?ref_type=bookmark

I think, from seeing the size of some of the Obers posted here, that I could go for one in my herd. I've always been an alpine kinda guy. Zimmerman had one named Mask on our trip to the Uintas. That Ober had amazing horns and was the king goat, but he was also very very well mannered and a pleasure to work with.

Here is an update for you Charlie Horse. That Ober buckling went to be a future packer, and when he left at three months, he was...get ready...80#s!

Alas, none of my goats are monster huge. My guys are regular sized and will do well, but they wont be confused with ponies. I had a chance to get a huge baby a year and a half ago at the rendy, but didn't end up with him. I did get Woodstock there though and he's doing great. They had a few obers for the auction and again they got away from me.
