It really is a lot of fun. I'm not sure how practical it is for the trail, but obstacle training is a great way to interact with your goats and play with them when you don't have time to go for a hike, or when they're too young to pack yet. While you may never encounter anything on the trail that resembles the contrived obstacles in an arena, the time spent with your goats pays off by building trust and obedience and teaching commands like "trot" and "whoa".
