Enjoyed reading your trip report!  Have wanted to get up to Gardner Meadows for a while, maybe check out Abernathy Lake. A bit long of a trudge at 10+ miles, sounds like you broke it up by hiking 4-ish miles the first day? That would make it more workable for my goats.
