Hey All,

I've been informed that there is going to be a small packgoat get-together near Ridgeway, CO July 18-20. The itinerary is fairly open. It sounds like this will be a laid-back event hosted by Cindy Flowers at a private ranch. This is a beautiful area and we will be allowed to hike on the ranch, which is several hundred acres. It can accommodate small RV's but there are no hookups. Attendees are responsible for providing water for themselves and their goats. Well-behaved dogs are allowed. Cindy will be on-site Thursday for those who wish to arrive the night before. Porta-potties will be provided, and Cindy will be accepting donations to help pay for them. From the photos, it looks like there's really good forage for the goats!

Here is the location info:
I hope to see some folks there!

Update: The owner has been found! The goat was one of 4 in a pen that dogs got into two weeks ago at Marsing, ID. One goat was killed, 2 were found. This goat, named Packer, was never found after the incident. Packer was found 10 miles south of his home on BLM land in the Owyhee Mountains. They will be reunited this week.

This wether was found loose in the Owyhee Mountains. He followed people back to their trailer. I don’t have the exact location he was found at this time but will update this post when I get further information.

He has a collar but no contact information. He is familiar with leading and trailering. He is currently safe at a farm in Eagle, ID.

It's a bit late notice, but Phil and I are in Laramie, WY this weekend for the Higher Grounds Fair. We've got a booth set up with lots of packgoat photos and info. I printed out the NAPgA Packgoat Guidebook for display and I've got lots of flyers and business cards for NAPgA. I'm doing an intro to packgoats talk in the afternoon, and Phil is doing a fiddle concert in Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. His concert will feature his goat videos on the big screen while he plays. It should be a fun weekend! Finn, Sonic, and Scout are with us. They all got baths this morning and are ready to entertain. Finn will be pulling a cart, and I may use the opportunity to train Sonic and Scout to pull as well. Maybe I can do some little impromptu harness goat training clinics.
