Where at in Montana? I dont see any snow on the ground? Smile

Did a quick look at his pedigree. The dams sire goes back to an old friends from around here Smile Also some good old Alpine foundation blood lines Smile

RE: New buck bringing new blood - michael - 11-24-2014

It rained that morning melted the snow then fries and snowed last night so now there is about 1/2 inch again. Supposed to be some more snow coming soon. Thanks for taking a look at the pedigree hoping he brings good genes to the herd. We aren't quite done with our first buck but now we have more options.

Nice buck. How tall is he? He looks like he has some long legs!

RE: New buck bringing new blood - michael - 11-24-2014

@ Dave, we are in nw montana just a mile up from the nw corner of Flathead Lake. @ Nebs I thought the same thing when I first saw him stand up. He is 32" at the shoulder not really sure where I'm supposed to take the measurement. How does that compare with other bucks? Anyone? I really like his overall looks though he is a little skinny, he also has a very friendly personality.

I grew up in Kalispel and my dad had a cabin up above Plains. Smile

You ever make it back here? I love plains, elk hunting is so much better down there. We are in Somers. Small world.

I love that last picture of him looking for the girls! How old is he, and what do you call him?

RE: New buck bringing new blood - michael - 11-24-2014

He is 2 and I'm not sure what name will stick, for now we call him Double Deuce. We have been talking about his name as it only makes sense If there are typos. Don't know how they came up with his name but I can't change it.

Not for a few years. We moved my dad and step mom here cause of her cancer. She is gone now and my dad is living in Dayton WA. now. He often talks about going back but is old enough now that he needs family close enough to help out.
