Birthing Positions - Taffy - 01-12-2014

I "think" this is where I post this information. A friend sent me a link to this website which shows birthing positions and how to seal with them. I thought it was great information and very pertinent since it's coming up on kidding season.

I looked at that link from another site. Very informative.

I remember looking over this site when we were preparing for our kids last summer. Very helpful and informative! Thanks for linking it here. I wouldn't have remembered where to find it again.

I have a doe due February 8th and one due February 10th. This will be my 2nd & 3rd kidding experience. The first was pretty traumatic with 3 kids in wrong positions and almost losing the doe. I didn't breed that doe this year. I'm giving her a year off. Both of the does due in February are first fresheners. I figure I need all the information I can garner!

I'm still in wait mode to see if all three does are bred. My alpine doe has been to the buck twice, so fingers are crossed. One saanen doe hasn't come in season for a couple months so time for a blood test. The other saanen doe I should know in a couple weeks. So come May I will be needing that information. Lucky for me all three does are on their 4th kidding.

First fresheners often need to be watched closer. They often dont understand the holding still to let the kids eat or they are rough with them.
