Hi, all and Nanno. - Starting Over - 03-06-2026 Well, I was Blackie's Handmaiden, then Blackie's Maiden on here a long time ago. I lost Robert, husband to heart attack 3 years ago. These wierd freezes we had recently, I lost Blackie and several others. Broke my heart. Told myself I was going to just let the goat part of this farm fade out by attrition, all getting old. Then I was hit by a moment of insanity and bought 4 alpine buckling babies today, 2 days old and 3 days old. Not nearly as magnificent as those I saw you guys packing but this is Texas where most of what is available are boars and Nubians. But I'm rusty. Forgot a lot so I will be full of questions again. Hope to connect again with some of you I knew from the past. Thanks. Connie Losee
RE: Hi, all and Nanno. - Nanno - 03-07-2026 Connie!! Hello and welcome back! I was so sorry to hear about Robert's passing. I'm happy to hear you still have the farm and it's so exciting that you've got some new little up-and-coming packgoat buddies! I hope they thrive. All of my old guard is gone. We lost Finn a year and a half ago, which broke my heart. He was something extra special and I don't expect we'll ever have another that even comes close, but it's a gift to have even one animal like that in a lifetime. We've got others now who are also wonderful in their own ways, including some of Finn's grand-daughters and great-grandsons. Do you still have horses? I remember when you bought that big beautiful Saddlebred(?) a few years back. I really liked the look of him. Anyway, I'm so glad to see you back and I hope your babies turn out really well! |
