Trimming Dew Claws - Taffy - 01-04-2014

I have a goat that came to me with very large dew claws. Suggestions on their care/trimming?

We have had a few with extra long ones. You can trim em a bit with hoof clippers but for the most part (with the dairy goats) its not an issue. Just kinda unsightly.

I trimmed them up on one of the goats that was always getting peices hanging off. I thought I read somewhere to only trim the dry pieces if there is anything hanging off that can snag. You can tell when to stop once the dry portion startes looking more like the frog of their hoof.
