Hello Nebs,
I live on the west side of Washington in a small town called Roy. Where do you live? I hunt all over, mainly Washington, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. How about you?

I live in Pasco but also hunt all over. I put in for trophy tags and when I don't I draw them ( as I only seem to build points) I then mostly hunt birds. I am trying to collect at least one of every type of hunt able birds in North America.

I also go to your side of the state often to hunt sea ducks.

I only put in for a secondary deer (first time drawing) and didnt get it of course.

Say, I have a question about points. If you put in say for 5 draws and dont get them. Does that give you a total of 5 points that are counted on all draws OR does each point stay within its draw category?

You get a point per permit you put in for if you don't draw. Sometimes it cost a lot of time and money to build points. I've been putting in all over the west and building points for over ten to fifteen years now. I should be close to drawing a good permit any year.

So the good idea is to put in for as many permits as possible the first few years to build points and then start to focus on the permits you actually want?
