Thought I would share my recipe here:
Mix everything together and form small cookies. If things won't stick together well, add a little water a little bit at a time, until the mixture holds together. Drop by teaspoon onto nonstick or greased baking sheet. Bake at 325° for 25 minutes or so. Watch carefully, these can burn easily! Cool and store in an airtight container. If you have a food dehydrator, you can dehydrate these at about 135 degrees until they are dry & "cookie-like." A dehydrator is superior to an oven for this recipe, because the cookies are less-likely to burn but they will still hold together well.
- 2 cups rolled oats
- ½ cup wheat germ or whole wheat flour
- 1 cup of raisins
- 4 carrots, grated or 2 cups grated carrots
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 cup applesauce or mashed bananas
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Optional: anise or licorice extract, or a handful anise or fennel seeds (goats LOVE the flavor)!
