This morning Curtis King came over loaded up Thor and Totes with his six goats for a hike. My wife was out of town, so it was just me and the kids. We went north of town by the Hanford Reach area along the Columbia River. We hike up to a little valley nestled in a bench up a pretty good hillside. Driving by, no one would ever know, this little oasis was even there. It has a couple of ponds, a cottonwood grove, and a bunch of wildlife. We had fun, and it was Thor's first time carrying a pack (don't worry it was empty). He didn't fight or fuss at all, and I think he is going to make a great packgoat. All the goats sparred a little, and got along great. My youngest son Dylan, can't wait to ride Sandy with Curt's saddle and stirrups next time. Thanks Curt for the fun morning. The kids had a blast, and Thor got some good experience.
Here are a few pics of the today's adventure.
