Taffy is the one to ask for info here. If she doesn't respond in the next day or two, please bump this thread and remind me and I'll get in touch with her. I believe Carolyn Eddy usually organized these, and now that she's passed on I'm not sure what the status is.

I found the facebook page.  It has the info. Jan  posted, copied below.  The facebook page has Jan's phone# & email.

I hope we can get a bunch of WA & OR people & goats to show up!

The Cascade Packgoat Club's Annual fall campout will be held September 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th. This is a change from previous years as it is the 2nd weekend after Labor Day. Our campout is held in the Columbia River gorge near Carson, WA. The campground is in a beautiful setting right along Trapper Creek with plenty of room for tents and R.V.'s. It has pit toilets but no running water or garbage service so you need to bring your own water and pack your garbage out. This is a private horse camp that we rent for the weekend but it is in a National Forest so you will need to bring weed free hay for your goats. Cost for the weekend is $15 for a single or $20 for a family. This is the last year that the Cascade Packgoat Club will host this campout so if you have always meant to come this should be the year!

There are hiking trails right from camp and many, many more within a few miles. If you drive to a trailhead you will need a Northwest Forest Pass. You can get a yearly pass at this website: or by calling 800-270-7504. For the last few years the day pass has been available at the trailhead right near the campground. It is $5 per day.
Everyone is Welcome. Potlucks Friday and Saturday evening. Our club is pretty informal but if there's something you would like to discuss or a subject you would like to learn more about we can schedule that too. This is a goat get together but dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and their owners can keep control of them.

Directions are: From the north, take Highway 14 east from I 205

From the South, take I 84 east to Cascade Locks, cross the Bridge of the Gods, (toll bridge) and turn right onto Highway 14.

Then follow Highway 14 through Stevenson. In about 3 miles you will turn left at a small sign that says Carson, pointing to the left up a hill. Go approximately 15 miles straight through Carson (well, stop at the stop sign!), you will pass a Fish hatchery, after the hatchery the road splits, take the left branch (toward Government Mineral Springs), go ½ mile, turn right on gravel road 5401. Go a short distance, cross a bridge and Camp Howe is on the right. The roads are good all the way and you are only on gravel for a very short distance.

Are you planning on attending? I know of 5 other families attending, myself included.

RE: 2018 Cascade Packgoat Club Campout - Perry - 08-31-2018

Hi Taffy,

Yes, I'm planning to attend, it's been a few years.  I tried llamas 3 years ago, and decided to come back to pack goats last year, so have a whole new crew.

We want to come awfully badly. Big setback was paying for hay with drought here....ouch!!!! Will have to see if finances stretch and if we can get farm sitter and health certificates in this short time. Vet who did other certs having health problems.

OK. Decision made, unfortunately. Too little time, too little money, too little time. So gotta pass. Sure wish you all would have one again next year. I will pay more attention to NEWS AND.EVENTS on this site from now on.

You guys should host a packgoat get-together in the Texas hill country. That way you don't have to travel far, and maybe we could round up a few southern folk who never get to attend Rendies because of the distance. I, for one, would LOVE to see a Texas hill country get-together. ;-)
